Years Practicing Kendo/Iaido:
began January 5, 1979 with Tatsuhiko Konno Sensei, David Yotsuuye Sensei, Aniceto Seto Sensei and Rod Omoto Sensei; thence influenced by a vast number of great teachers until the present day.

Locations Where Kendo was Learned:
The University of Washington; Tacoma; Pasadena; Northwest; Bellevue; Saitama Kitamoto; Chiba Sakurashi; Tokyo; Kyoto; etc.

Teaching Philosophy Summarized:
My entire philosophy is framed in the golden words of Rod Nobuto Omoto Sensei: "Whoever holds a shinai is a friend of mine. Don't anticipate... be cool." My best idea of teaching: demonstrating with my body's actions what I experience to be the optimal way to challenge the life-and-death situation of Kendo.

Additional Comments:
I love the Great Game of Kendo, the Way of the Sword... learning to sense The Force flowing through everything, strategies of conflict resolution, currents and fields of energy, and a life played for keeps.
